abandonedamerica.org is not possible without your support!
whenever you buy a print or make a donation, you are making it possible to add more to the
website. visiting locations across the united states is very physically and financially draining, and
every contribution you make expands the library of locations and my ability to share what i do with
others through gallery showings. but what if you're a fan of the site and can't afford to contribute
financially? there are other ways to support the site:

  • if you know of anyone who is looking to hire a photographer for commercial or architectural
work (non-abandoned sites included), recommend me.
  • alert me to the locations of abandoned or otherwise architecturally significant sites you may know
of. if you are able to arrange permission to these sites, so much the better. i can't visit every site,
    but i try to.
  • let me know about any galleries or other venues that might be receptive to hanging my work. i
also consider speaking engagements. right now i primarily do showings in pennsylvania, but as
circumstances allow i have been trying to branch out. more info about arranging showings can be
found here. notification of photography contests and publishing opportunities are also appreciated.
  • let me know about technical issues with my website. suggestions are also always appreciated too.
  • tell your friends about the site!
  • join the emailing list.
  • become a fan on facebook, then start discussions and leave comments on the fan page! not only
does it feed my frail ego, but it also will lead to the site being featured in your friends' news
feeds, and maybe they'll take a look too. plus, it's fun!
  • if you enjoy my work or like a new gallery i put up, take a few minutes to send me an email and
tell me. there is little that is more dispiriting than spending over a month working on a new
addition to the site, finally posting it and sending the notification email to the people on the mailing
list, and then getting absolutely no response. call me needy if you will, but i like to know that i am
not simply firing all of my effort off into the void.
  • if you know about the history of a site or are in contact with a friend or relative who
worked/lived at one, let me know about it!
  • donations and print sales. i know i mentioned that up above and this section was supposed to be
for other things but i'm going to mention it again anyway. it is very, very hard to manage the
expenses of the website without them.
  • if you are knowledgeable about web design and will consult with me (even for trade) it would be
appreciated. i am not good at web design and need assistance.
  • i like wine. it doesn't really have anything to do with the site in a direct way except that when i
    am happy i am productive.
